Instructions for Connecting Your Account

  1. 1Enter your WhatsApp number in WhatLingo and tap “Get Code.”
  2. 2Copy the code on WhatLingo.
  3. 3Then, go to WhatsApp via the notification, or by opening WhatsApp and going to: Settings > Linked Devices > Link Device > Link with phone number.
  4. 4On the enter-code page on WhatsApp, long press (hold down) on one of the boxes to paste the code.
  5. 5IMPORTANT: When you see “Logging in”, immediately switch back to WhatLingo right away. (It may feel strange to go back when the spinner is still spinning, but it's important!)
  6. ✓When you see “Connecting to WhatsApp”, you're connected!

Be quick once you open WhatsApp! If you stay on WhatsApp for more than 30 seconds after leaving WhatLingo, WhatsApp may expire your code. So paste the code immediately and return to WhatLingo as soon as you see “Logging In”. Always keep the WhatLingo App open in the background.

Code generation not working? First, check that you've entered the correct phone number. Second, if you've tried more than 4 times in a row, WhatsApp may pause code generation. Wait an hour and try again.

Does WhatLingo support voice messages?
Yes! 🎉 Incoming voice notes are seamlessly transcribed and translated for you.
Is my data private & secure?
Yes. Only the chats you choose are translated, messages are never stored outside your device, and translations are sent securely and anonymously over HTTPS. Your phone number is used only for linking your WhatsApp account — never stored or shared. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.
Is WhatLingo free?
You can try WhatLingo free via our free trial. After the trial, keep chatting with a simple subscription (monthly, 6-month, or annual). Cancel anytime through your App Store settings.
